Do you find the Grips in PUBG to be confusing? Check out this article to see where each Grip should be used and what perks each one has!

Released in 2017, Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG, has a variety of weapons and features that make the game fun while also adding to its complexity. The many options in weapons and attachments in the game allow the players to combine different attachments to find the combination that best works for them.

The PUBG recoil control is very difficult and having the pubg best attachments on your weapons allows the recoil to be much less punishing and easier to control. This is why we have combined the best PUBG attachments guide in 2022 to help you improve your recoil and accuracy.

We will break down each weapon characteristic in PUBG. We’ll also review each grip and discuss what the best attachments are and why.

Understanding PUBG Spray and Recoil

Older PUBG players will already know this. But if you are a newer player, it is essential to know that the PUBG Spray differs depending on whether you are standing or crouching.

If you spray down an Automatic weapon while standing up, the spray will be the harshest and the most difficult to control.

And if you spray down the same weapon from the same distance but crouch instead of standing straight up, you’ll notice that the recoil is a little less harsh and easier to control.

The same is true for when you are prone. This is when you’ll experience the least amount of recoil.

All this information is true on the assumption that you are shooting the same weapon using the same attachments and are the same distance away from the target.

Spray Patterns in PUBG

Another interesting thing to know is that weapons in PUBG have a unique mechanic for their spray patterns. Unlike games like Valorant and CSGO, where every weapon shoots in the same bullet pattern every time, every weapon in PUBG has several different spray patterns that are somewhat similar.

When spraying, the game can shoot the bullets in any of the said spray patterns, adding an aspect of randomness to the game.

This means if you shoot the same gun at the same distance using the same attachments, the bullet patterns won’t align exactly with each other. Instead, they would slightly deviate.

Vertical Foregrip

Compatible Weapons: Skorpion, MP5K, Tommy Gun, UMP45, Vector, AUG, Beryl M762, G36C, M416, MK47 Mutant, QBZ, Scar-L, SKS.

Let’s start off this list with one of the most popular grips in the game, the Vertical Foregrip. This grip is popular for many reasons.

Firstly, it is great to use with weapons that have a high rate of fire or difficult to control vertical recoil like the Beryl or the Vector. This grip makes it easier to spray down these weapons by decreasing their vertical recoil.

The Vertical Foregrip also increases your weapon’s stability after taking a shot. In PUBG, if you shoot even one bullet, your weapon will become inaccurate for a short time frame. The Vertical Foregrip reduces that inaccuracy and makes your bullet spread much tighter.

This means that your follow-up shot after firing the first bullet will be close to where the first bullet lands. This is really helpful if you are tap-firing enemies at long range.

The Vertical Foregrip is a great grip for DMRs or Assault Rifles on single-firing mode because it allows each succession shot to land much closer to the first bullet.

Angled Grip

Compatible Weapons: MP5K, UMP45, AUG, Beryl M762, G36C, M416, Mk47 Mutant, QBZ, SCAR-L, SKS.

This is a unique grip because it changes three different stats on your weapon.

First of all, it significantly reduces your horizontal recoil spread. This means the bullets won’t go too far towards the left and right when spraying down your weapon. This allows you to focus more on your vertical recoil and pull your aim down instead of left and right.

The Angled Grip also gives you +1 ADS speed, meaning aiming down sights will be quicker when having this grip equipped. This short ADS time benefits you when you fight an enemy at close range and want to spray down your weapon as fast as possible. It also helps if you use bigger scopes like the 6x or 8x. Aiming Down Sights with these scopes takes a long time, which is why the Angled Grip may be useful.

The last weapon stat with this grip is the -1 weapon steadiness. The negative value indicates that it makes your weapon steadiness worse. Weapon Steadiness refers to the slight random movement of your crosshair on its own when you aim down sights.

Thumb Grip

Compatible Weapons: MP5K, UMP45, AUG, Beryl M762, G36C, M416, Mk47 Mutant, QBZ, SCAR-L, SKS.

This unique grip combines the benefits of the Vertical Foregrip and Angled Grip to give you an attachment that has the best of both worlds with some comprises. It gives you +2 ADS Speed, +1 Vertical Recoil Control, and +1 Weapon steadiness.

The Thumb Grip does give you some vertical recoil control. And it may not be as effective as the Vertical Foregrip, but it is still helpful. It doesn’t give you any Horizontal reduction, though, so this grip would be best used with weapons that don’t have a high recoil.

The Weapon steadiness that you get with the Thumb Grip is really helpful as it significantly reduces your aim shakiness when aiming down sights. The Weapon steadiness stat is really helpful when using the weapon at longer ranges.

The Weapon Steadiness is also complimented by the significant reduction in the ADS Speed that the Thumb Grip gives you. This allows you to quickly ADS onto your target when aiming at long range or at a target up-close.

Half Grip

Compatible Weapons: Skorpion, MP5K, UMP45, Vector, AUG, Beryl M762, G63C, M416, Mk47 Mutant, QBZ, SCAR-L, SKS.

The Half Grip has great statistics and focuses more on helping you control the recoil of your gun. It is a +1 Recoil Control, +1 Recoil Recovery, and -1 Weapon Steadiness.

As you may notice that this grip doesn’t specifically have a Horizontal or Vertical Recoil Control. Instead, it has an overall recoil reduction, slightly reducing both the Vertical and Horizontal Recoil on your weapon. This gives you a much tighter bullet spread and reduces your bullet recoil both vertically and horizontally.

The Recoil Recovery stats allow this grip to be useful with weapons that are often used in short bursts instead of spraying the whole weapon at once. Improved Recoil Recovery means the weapon’s recoil resets faster than it normally would once you stop shooting.

Lastly, the Half Grip reduces your Weapon steadiness, increasing your aim’s random movement when aiming down sight. All these stats make this grip perfect for using with close-range weapons like the M416 or Vector.

Lightweight Grip

Compatible Weapons: Skorpion, MP5K, UMP45, Vector, AUG, Beryl M762, G36C, M416, Mk47 Mutant, QBZ, SCAR-L, SKS.

The Lightweight’s statistics don’t have any recoil improvement whatsoever. This grip focuses more on weapon stability, giving you +2 Weapon Stability after shot and +1 Weapon steadiness.

The lack of either Vertical or Horizontal recoil improvement on this grip means that it’s not meant for use with weapons that are usually sprayed down like the M416 or Vector.

The main purpose of the Lightweight grip is to be used with DMRs and Single-Firing ARs at long ranges. This is because of the increased weapon stability after every shot it provides. When single-firing with DMRs or ARs, every follow-up shot using the Lightweight grip will land extremely close to the first shot. This means you won’t have to adjust your aim much after taking a shot, and it’ll be easier to shoot enemies at longer ranges.

And as we already know, the increased Weapon steadiness is extremely helpful, especially at long ranges where the slightest randomness in your aim can greatly impact your accuracy.

Conclusion

Not every grip goes with every weapon, and there isn’t a one-wins-all grip in PUBG. Each grip serves a different purpose and is made to be used in a certain way. This is why it is extremely important to know when each grip should be used to get the most out of your weapon. We hope you found this article informative, and now you’ll know which grip to pick, depending on your weapon!
